What Information We Collect

The short answer: None.

ThirstTrapp collects zero personal information. No analytics, no tracking, no telemetry, no user accounts, no cloud storage.

How the App Works

Camera Access

• Why we need it: To detect when you drink water using computer vision
• What we see: Real-time video processing using on-device AI (MediaPipe and Roboflow)
• What we store: Nothing. Video frames are analyzed in real-time and immediately discarded
• What we transmit: Nothing. No video or images ever leave your device
• How to control it: You can revoke camera access anytime in iOS Settings → ThirstTrapp → Camera

App Usage Monitoring

• Why we need it: To track and optionally manage screen time for apps you choose
• What we collect: Usage time for apps you select to manage
• Where it's stored: Locally on your device only, in iOS's secure app container
• What we transmit: Nothing. Your app usage data never leaves your device
• How to control it: This feature is completely optional and only monitors apps you explicitly select

On-Device AI Processing

ThirstTrapp uses advanced computer vision powered by:

• MediaPipe: For facial landmark detection
• Roboflow: For object detection (cups, bottles, glasses)

Both run entirely on your device. No cloud processing. No data transmission.

What We Don't Do

We want to be crystal clear about what ThirstTrapp does not do:

• No user accounts or registration
• No cloud storage or syncing
• No analytics or crash reporting
• No advertising or tracking pixels
• No third-party SDKs (except the AI models mentioned above, which run locally)
• No location tracking
• No access to contacts, photos, or other apps' data
• No data sales or sharing
• No behavioral profiling

Required Permissions

ThirstTrapp requests only the permissions necessary for core functionality:

Camera (Required)

• Purpose: Detect drinking activity in real-time
• Processing: On-device only, using computer vision
• Storage: No video or photos are saved

Screen Time API (Optional)

• Purpose: Monitor and manage app usage time as a hydration incentive
• Processing: Local tracking only for apps you select
• Storage: Usage data stored locally in app's secure container

Notifications (Optional)

• Purpose: Hydration reminders
• Processing: Generated locally based on your drinking patterns
• Storage: Reminder preferences stored locally

Data Storage

All app data is stored locally on your device using iOS's secure app storage:

• Your hydration goals and history
• App usage tracking data (if enabled)
• Notification preferences
• App settings

This data is protected by iOS's security features including device encryption and biometric authentication (if you've enabled it on your device).

Data Deletion

To delete all ThirstTrapp data:

1. Simply delete the app from your device
2. All local data is immediately and permanently removed

There are no accounts to delete, no cloud data to purge, and no servers to contact. Deleting the app removes all traces of your data.

Children's Privacy

ThirstTrapp does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children, because we don't collect data at all.

However, parental guidance is recommended for users under 18 to ensure the app's screen time management features are used appropriately and with parental consent.

Third-Party Services

App Store: When you download ThirstTrapp from the Apple App Store, Apple's privacy policy governs that transaction. We never receive personally identifiable information about our users from Apple.

AI Models: The computer vision models (MediaPipe and Roboflow) run entirely on your device and do not communicate with external servers.

No other third-party services are integrated into ThirstTrapp.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect your data, there's no data to request, correct, or delete from our servers. You maintain complete control over all app data through iOS Settings and by managing the app itself.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our privacy practices, we'll update this policy and notify users through an app update. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.

We will never introduce data collection practices that contradict our core privacy-first promise without explicit user consent and a prominent notice.
