Getting Started
How does ThirstTrapp detect when I drink?
ThirstTrapp uses advanced computer vision technology with face tracking and object detection to automatically recognize when you're drinking. All processing happens on your device for privacy and security.
What devices are supported?
ThirstTrapp requires iOS 16.0 or later and works on iPhone models with Face ID. The app uses your front-facing camera for detection.
Do I need to keep the app open all the time?
The app needs to be open and active for drinking detection to work. You can minimize it when you're not drinking, and it will manage your app blocking in the background based on your current hydration status.
Using the App
How do I set my daily hydration goals?
Navigate to Settings within the app, where you can customize your daily water intake goal based on your personal needs and preferences.
How do I add or remove apps from the block list?
Go to Settings and select "Manage Apps" to choose which apps you want to link to your hydration goals. You can add or remove apps at any time.
Can I temporarily disable app blocking?
Yes, you can pause app blocking at any time through the Settings menu. This gives you full control when you need unrestricted access to your apps.
Troubleshooting
Why isn't the app detecting my drinking?
Make sure you've granted camera permissions, you're in good lighting, and your face and cup/bottle are visible to the front camera. Try adjusting your angle or distance from the camera.
The app isn't blocking apps correctly. What should I do?
Check that you've enabled Screen Time permissions for ThirstTrapp in iOS Settings. Navigate to Settings > Screen Time > Apps and ensure ThirstTrapp has the necessary permissions.
